Visit to Houtbay for some FISH and CHIPS

Its been a couple of months since I visited Houtbay. I remember going almost every month with my parents and just having pure innocent fun on the beach. Hout Bay  which  is Afrikaans for Houtbaai, from Afrikaans for “Wood Bay”) is the name of a coastal suburb of Cape Town, South Africa with a mix of neighbourhoods from the very rich to the very poor. It lies in a valley on the Atlantic seaboard of the Cape Peninsula and is twenty kilometers south of the Central Business District of Cape Town. The name Hout Bay can refer to the town, or the bay on which it is situated, or the whole valley- wikipedia

The arts and crafts, the culture, the smell of fish and chips.. hmmmm after a walk we had to grab a bite to eat at the famous Mariners Wharf and ordered a variety from fish to calamari and prawns. We were entertained by a man and his best friend, a seal trained to give visitors a laugh 🙂

Saturday was sunny but yet very windy so my choice for a dress was very slim. I wore something very simple and my famous peek cap for those lazy hair days. We were invited for supper at my friends place , so the colours were  great for both day and night. Although it it summer you can wear leatherette, maybe not full out, but yes you most definitely can!
